About Us

At Hillcrest, our mission is to…

Love God, Love People, and Make Disciples

The world is changing at a rapid pace and one thing has become very clear — the church is not a building. The church isn't the pastors or the logo or the brand. We are the Church! You and me.

Together we are on a journey to become the men and women Jesus was dreaming of when He died on the cross to save us.

Together we are exploring our faith and discovering our true identities in Christ. Jesus is the central focus of everything we say and do. He is the hope for our families and our city.

Together we will unlock our unique destinies and fulfill our sacred mission.

Our Core Beliefs

Triune God

We believe in one God eternal, the Creator of all things, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man at the same time, who was born, lived, taught, died, and was raised back to life all to be the ransom for our sin.

Atonement

We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and that, by trusting in His death, we can be restored to a right relation to God.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is ever present and always active in the world, guides us into salvation.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, giving us all we need to know about how to be saved.

Sinful Nature

We believe that we are all sinners by both nature and act and need God’s forgiveness and cleansing.

Prevenient Grace

We believe that God has enabled us to turn to God and away from sin but that we are not forced to do so.

Salvation

We believe that each person must repent, turn away from sin, and trust Christ in order to be saved.

Justification

We believe that when we turn from sin and trust in Christ, the old record of sin is wiped clean, and we are born anew, thus becoming part of the family of God.

Sanctification

We believe that after salvation, God desires each individual to be fully submitted in thoughts, attitudes, decisions, emotions, and lifestyle to the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit. When we make a complete commitment to God, God cleanses our spirit, fills us with God’s perfect love, and gives us the power to live victoriously.

The Church

We believe the Church to be the community of those who confess Jesus as Lord. God commands the Church (both local and global), through unity and fellowship, to be an expression God’s of love, compassion, and mercy to the world.

Communion

We believe in the Lord’s Supper.

Baptism

We believe in baptism and urge people to be baptized as Christians.

Healing

We believe that God can heal. We pray for healing. We also believe that God can work through medical science.

Second Coming

We believe that Jesus Christ will return.

Final Judgment

We believe that everyone will face the judgment of God with its rewards and punishments.
